Cubs,
Uh-oh……not again…..then end of another season is near……sad, sad, sad time for Coach Ross. What a team – I was so excited for this season, coaching most of the boys from last year, and then the new players fit in perfectly – the season exceeded my expectations. This is a tremendous group – they are good baseball players, but more importantly, they are great young men – they are smart, hard-working, encouraging, funny (yes, arm pit noises are funny) and respectful – I continue to expect great things from each of them.
And as for you parents…..well……you’re alright, too. Greg, Corey and I are truly thankful to all of you for your help and support this year. We couldn’t do this without you. And thanks for putting up with my e-mails and attempts at humor – 5-feet of Blonde Anger truly appreciates it, as it gives her a little bit of relief from my comedic relief. Anyways, I thank you. Enough with the mushy stuff – we’ve still got the end of the season – here we go!
One more practice and then the Year-End Jamboree! As you know, we’re undefeated (forgot – we don’t keep score…..) – so the Year-End Jamboree is, of course, for the World Championship! This will be very exciting – I love playing under the lights on Friday night! And then the Year-End Celebration at Hunter’s – WOOHOO!
Here’s the schedule for the week:
- Wednesday, July 6th – Practice @ 5:45 p.m. at Andover Lions Park – Parents, be prepared to play a game!
- Friday, July 8th – Game: Cardinals at Cubs @ 8:00 p.m. at Sunshine Park - Field #3 – arrive at the fields at 7:30 p.m.;
- Saturday, July 9th – Game: Cubs at White Sox @ 10:30 a.m. at Sunshine Park - Field #4 – arrive at the fields at 10:00 p.m.;
Immediately after our last game (10:30 a.m. on July 9th ), we’ll be gathering at the Hunter’s House;

- Hot dogs, condiments and lemonade will be provided;
- Bring other beverages as you choose;
- Last Names A-I: Side Dishes (Salads/Chips/Etc.)
- Last Names I-Z: Desserts
